Las Cruces bicyclist dies after being hit by pick-up truck

A Las Cruces bicyclist has died after a pick-up truck hit him Monday evening.

As KTSM previously reported, it happened at about 5 p.m. near the intersection of Amador and Motel. 

According to police, Hien Van Nyugen, 65, was traveling east on Amador when the truck hit him as it turned onto Motel.

Nyugen was airlifted to University Medical Center of El Paso where he died Thursday morning.

The driver, a 48-year-old man, was not injured and is not expected to face any charges or citations.
