A man was killed when his truck ran over him as he tried to open his Anthony, N.M. home gate.

The Doña Ana County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the death of Aram Dorado-Marin, a 20-year-old Anthony man.

Dorado-Marin was killed at about 5 p.m. Tuesday in the 1700 block of Deer Circle.

“Witnesses who drove by called 911 to report seeing a man trapped underneath a Chevrolet pickup truck,” the sheriff’s office said. “After further investigation, it is believed Aram Dorado-Marin started the engine in his truck and then exited the vehicle to open a gate in the driveway. The truck rolled backward, and, according to deputies, pinned Dorado-Marin under the truck.”

Dorado-Marin was dead at the scene. The sheriff’s office is investigating the incident as an accident.
