El Paso police identify driver killed in collision near I-10 East and Executive Center


EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) – The El Paso Police Department says a 76-year-old man was killed in a collision on Friday on Interstate 10.

Jose Luis Oliva was driving a 2009 Infiniti vehicle on I-10 East and Sunland Park when another another vehicle driven by Jatavis Fuse, 35, began to change lanes at the same time. They collided and Oliva’s vehicle veered into a center concrete barrier.

Fuse, who was driving a 2015 GMC Yukon, veered into a guardrail.

Oliva was transported to a hospital where he died from his injuries. Fuse was not injured in the incident. Police began investigating the incident shortly after it happened.

The El Paso Police Department has not announced if charges will be pressed.
