A backdoor cold front comes in today as well as our next storm system that will increase rain and thunderstorm chances.

A cold front coming to our east will drop temperatures into the mid to upper 60s for today. This cold front is weak so we will only see a 3°-5° difference in yesterday’s temperatures.

As this front comes in we will see wind speeds increase as well. Winds will come from the east at 10-20 mph and gusts 25+ mph. Gusts will pick up around 11 a.m. but we will see peak gusts between 6p.m. until 9 p.m.

Rain chances will increase tonight at 6 p.m. We will only see scattered showers from this system. But we will see a chance for isolated thunderstorms, especialy near Silver City.

a 30% chance of showers will remain in the forecast on Thursday through Thursday night. This second round of showers will increase thunerstorm chances in East El Paso and well as Hudspeth County.

We are looking to return to drier and warmer conditions by Friday. Conditions will stay clear thoughout the weekend and into eatly next week.

A warming trend will also put us back in the 70s by Friday and mid 70s by next Monday.
