A Wind Advisory has been issued for the Borderland Area starting Friday at noon and expiring at 8pm.
Winds are expected to reach speeds of 35+ mph and gust up to 50+ mph.
The timing for the stronger winds will be expected between 2pm and 6pm Friday, with Eastern El Paso County and the mountain areas getting the stronger winds.
This means Borderland residents should make sure to tie down their front yard holiday decorations, make sure their trash and recycling bins are secured as these winds are capable of moving them around.
Because cold air will also mix in with the stronger winds, it will feel rather chilly Friday afternoon. Make sure to have your winter attire ready.
Our weather should calm down by Saturday morning, before our next storm system arrives Sunday. We expect to see another windy afternoon with slight chances of rain.
We calm down Monday through Wednesday, before the next cold front moves in Thursday and brings in decent rain chances Thursday-Friday.
