El Paso is under a Weather Authority Alert due to the possibility of flooding this afternoon, thanks to the remnants of Tropical Storm Sergio.
The remnants of Tropical Storm Sergio will move across the region and bring widespread rainfall to Southern New Mexico and West Texas today and tonight. This will allow our afternoon highs to stay below average.
Heavy rain will fall over some areas, possible up to an inch and a half of rain in some areas, which could cause flooding.
We expect rain to possibly last through Saturday morning, before drier air moves in Saturday afternoon and into much of Sunday.
A very strong cold front will move across the region Sunday night, causing a more than 20 degree drop from Sunday afternoon into Monday afternoon.
Highs are expected to stay in the low 50’s Monday and Tuesday, before heating up to the upper 60’s Wednesday through the end of next week.
