Two men arrested after car chase in Far East El Paso

El Paso News

Two men allegedly tried to run from sheriff deputies, but were caught and arrested in the Far East El Paso desert.

Miguel Flores, 62, and Victor Navarro, 29, were arrested Monday on suspicion of evading arrest and various outstanding warrants, the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office said in a news release.

Deputies tried to pull over a Dodge Ram for a traffic stop near Desert Meadows Road, when the driver kept driving. The truck was later found abandoned in the desert near Krag Street and Greg Drive, the release said.

The two men were later found on foot and taken into custody.

Flores is facing charges of evading arrest. He also has an outstanding warrant for theft of property, the release said.

Navarro is accused of evading arrest with a vehicle, failure to identify himself or give false information, and outstanding warrants for theft and theft with two more previous convictions, the release said.
