Thousands protesting President Donald Trump’s visit to the borderland with chants as they made their way from Bowie High School to the coliseum.
Many in the March for Truth held handmade signs reading “no border wall” and “why lie?”
There were speeches about El Paso being a safe city and how immigrants are welcome in the Sun City before the groups started their walk.
Protesters say this march was about showing unity.
“This represents what we really are. All of us are seeing so many different people from so many different places. This is who we really are and it’s amazing to see that we all come together for an amazing cause,” said Andrea Moran, one of the protestors.
Hundreds if not thousands of marchers made their way to the Chalio Acosta Sports Center about a hundred feet from the coliseum where Trump supporters waited for the president.
More than 40 organizations including Border Network for Human Rights got together to put this march together.
