ORIGINAL: An El Paso doctor has had his license temporarily suspended following multiple alcohol-related arrests.

The Texas Medical Board suspended the medical license of Kelly J. Turner on Oct. 22 after determining that he would post a “threat to public welfare,” if he continued to practice.

According to a medical board news release, Turner had been arrested multiple times for alcohol-related offenses. He also “suffers from a mental and/or physical condition that renders him unable to safely practice medicine.”

A temporary suspension hearing will be held with 10 days’ notice to Turner, unless he waves it. In the meantime, his temporary suspension remains in place.
