Sun Metro to host community meetings on proposed changes to Downtown routes

A CNG-fueled 35-foot New Flyer bus in service with Sun Metro CNG in El Paso

Sun Metro is inviting the community to attend two meetings about the proposed changes to its routes in Downtown El Paso.

According to a news release, Route 4 and 9 will need to change to accommodate the El Paso Streetcar.

The meetings are scheduled to take place at the following dates and times:

  • Wednesday, Oct. 24: El Paso Main Library (501 N Oregon), 5:30 to 6:30 p.m.
  • Thursday, Oct. 25: La Fe Child and Adolescent Wellness Center – 2nd Floor (721 S. Ochoa), 6 to 7 p.m.

Officials say the following changes will be presented to city council:

  • Route 4, known as the Union Plaza Circulator, may change to Sun Metro’s full fare structure.
  •  Route 9, known as the Downtown Shopping District Circulator, may be deactivated.
