Standout golfer allegedly murdered Monday morning in Ames

AMES – 22-year-old Celia Barquin Arozamena was killed Monday morning after her body was found at Coldwater Golf Links in Ames around 10:30 a.m. 

Collin Richards,22, is accused of killing her. He’s being charged with Murder in the First  degree, a Class “A” Felony.

Police tell Local 5 Arozamena was on the course Monday morning when someone spotted her golf bag with no one around it. Officers found her body some distance away. 

Arozamena was a standout golfer with Iowa State University. On the roster, she’s listed as being from Puente San Miguel, Spain.
