A San Elizario man has died following a crash in East El Paso Monday night.
As KTSM previously reported, the two-vehicle incident happened at about 8:30 p.m. on I-10 East near the Americas exit.
Police say Carlos Valenzuela, 21, was traveling east on I-10 when he lost control and hit a van parked on the highway’s shoulder.
According to a news release, Valenzuela was not wearing his seatbelt and was ejected from his vehicle.
He was taken to Del Sol Medical Center where he died from his injuries, police say.
The driver of the parked van, Rigoberto Arriola, 44, was taken to Del Sol with minor injuries.
Police will continue to investigate the crash.
This is the 59th traffic fatality of 2018 compared to 45 at the same time in 2017.
