A road rage incident led to a deadly crash in Northeast El Paso on Monday afternoon, the El Paso Police Department said.

Katrina Tate Jensen, 23, died when her 1992 Toyota Camry lost control and crashed at about 3:57 p.m. in the 10500 block of Dyer.

Police said that she was driving north on Dyer when an unidentified vehicle cut in front of her. Jensen accelerated and cut in front of the unidentified vehicle. They traded spots once more when finally Jensen lost control of the Camry, crashed into the outside guardrail and cement barrier and then spun out of control.

Jensen was thrown from the vehicle and died at the scene from her serious injuries.

The Special Traffic Investigations unit identified road rage and a failure to wear a seat belt as contributing factors in the deadly collision. They are still investigating the crash.
