Police investigate ‘suspicious’ death near Franklin High School

Investigators say the man died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound.


Police are investigating after a man suspiciously died in West El Paso Saturday morning.

According to police, the department’s Crimes Against Persons unit responded to 700 Redd Road near Franklin High School at about 8:30 a.m.

Police say the man sustained gunshot wounds, but his cause of death is still unclear. His identity has not yet been released.

According to investigators, it is still unknown whether or not any suspects were involved.

The area will be closed off for several hours to allow police to investigate. Drivers are encouraged to use Westwind and Resler as an alternate route.
