Update: Man injured in road rage incident on Eastside has died; police searching for driver

El Paso, Texas (KTSM) — A 39-year-old man who was injured after a road rage incident in east El Paso on Thursday has died.

Detectives with the El Paso Police Department’s Crimes Against Persons said that Jose Guzman died on Sunday afternoon from injuries sustained when he was run over by a car after a road rage incident.

The incident started on Loop 375 North before the vehicles exited on Bob Hope. The suspect’s vehicle is described as a red or maroon mid-size sedan.

No arrests have been made and the investigation continues at this time.


The El Paso Police Department is searching for a driver suspected of running over a 39-year-old man after a road rage incident.

The victim was hospitalized with head trauma after the incident at the 1200 block of Bob Hope Drive on Thursday afternoon.

Officers with the Pebble Hills Regional Command were dispatched to 1201 Bob Hope Dr. at 4:39 p.m. on Thursday to reports of an aggravated assault that had just occurred. The assault allegedly stemmed from a road rage incident. The victim, who was traveling with his wife and child at the time, pulled into a parking lot following the interaction with the other driver.

As he approached the vehicle, the unidentified suspect accelerated, striking the victim and knocking him to the ground. The suspect then proceeded to run over the victim and flee the scene. The victim was transported to a local hospital where he remains in critical condition.

No arrests have been made in connection to this and the investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information regarding this crime is asked to call the Crimes Against Persons Office at (915) 212-4040.


A pedestrian was seriously incident in an East El Paso crash.

The crashing involving the pedestrian happened in the area of Joe Battle and Bob Hope and was reported at 4:39 p.m. on Thursday.

The victim was transported to the hospital with serious injuries.
