El Paso County Sheriff’s Major Crimes unit announced a major break in an 8-month-long investigation into two murders in far East El Paso County last December.
According to investigators, Vicente Cuellar, 37, and Allen Fraire, 31, have both been charged with Capital Murder in the deaths of David Miranda and Maria Cuellar.
Maria Cuellar’s body was found December 7th inside a burned vehicle that was located in the 3000 block of Carlsbad Rd.., just off the Fabens exit from I-10. Two days later, on December 9th, David Miranda’s body was located in a canal in a pecan orchard in the 15000 block of N. Clint Dr. in Clint.
Officials with the Clint Independent School District have confirmed that both Maria Cuellar and David Miranda were employees at Clint ISD at the time of their murders.
During the course of the investigation, EPCSO investigators learned that the two deaths were linked. At the time of the murder, family members described Miranda as “a humble young man who dedicated his life to watching over his mom and his recently deceased father.”
Both men are currently being held without bond at the El Paso County Detention Center.
