One person dead in Northeast El Paso pedestrian accident, police say

UPDATE: Police dispatch confirmed that one person was declared dead on the scene of Sunday’s accident. However, we do not know any information on the person killed.

ORIGINAL: A person was hit by a vehicle late Sunday night in Northeast El Paso, according to El Paso police.

Special traffic investigators were called to the area of McCombs St. and Sanders Ave. around 9:30 p.m.

A KTSM crew on the scene reported what appeared to be a body beneath a white sheet near the intersection but police did not confirm whether that was the person hit.

Information about the driver involved was also not immediately available.

Part of McCombs was blocked off due to the investigation.
