One killed in pedestrian accident on Loop 375 East near Midway exit ramp

UPDATE: The El Paso Police Department confirmed that a pedestrian was involved in Monday morning’s accident.

The department’s Special Traffic Investigations unit is headed to the scene. 

ORIGINAL: One person was killed in a crash which caused a part of El Paso’s Border Highway to be shut down on Monday morning.

El Paso Emergency Dispatch conf rimed that one person was killed in the accident. There was only one person injured in the crash.

The accident happened before 6 a.m. on Loop 375 East near the Midway exit. 

It is unknown how the accident happened.

The wreck caused the highway to be closed and traffic was forced to exit at the Fonesca exit.
