The president of Western Playland Patrick Thomson said every season the park tries to bring a new attraction and this year the ‘Loco 360’ is the park’s newest ride.
“It’s getting people to come back because if they’ve been here a couple of times last year, then the first thing they always ask is ‘do you have a new ride,'” he said.
Thomson told KTSM the ride was made in Italy. It arrived last year and crews put it together and tested it before the park opened for the 2019 season.
Park employees helped come up with the name, ‘Loco 360.’
The ride starts off slowly spinning and swaying side to side then quickly picks up momentum spinning upside down a few times.
This ride was chosen as an addition because there is no other ride that goes upside down throughout the park.
“You will go upside down. It’s not as bad as it looks. I even rode it myself and I don’t usually ride rides that spin around and go upside down. I rode it a couple of times when we were testing it and it’s a pretty good ride,” said Thomson.
He said the ride is a big hit especially with teenagers.
