Neighbors spending hours in traffic to get to their South Central homes

El Paso News

A new construction project “I-10 Connect Project” aimed at easing traffic from I-10 to the Bridge of the Americas port of entry is causing traffic headaches for some neighbors.

Neighbors tell KTSM they can spend about two hours sitting in traffic to get home when there are long lines at the bridge.

The South Central neighborhood is surrounded by major roads.

The I-10 Connect Project will provide faster access to drivers from I-10 to the Bridge of the Americas and Loop 375.

Paisano in the area is down to one lane adding to the congestion.

For now, TXDOT plans to widen Paisano later this week to allow traffic to move through faster for neighbors.
