Nationally-recognized bike race to roll into El Paso this weekend

A national cycling series will roll its way into downtown El Paso this weekend.

Visit El Paso will be hosting the 2019 USA CRITS series this Saturday. It is the first of a 10-race season spanning through September.

The race is set to begin at 10:45 a.m. and last all day till 9 p.m. The awards ceremony will begin at 9 p.m. and last till 9:30 p.m.

It will start and finish at E. Main & N. Mesa Street. The course will stretch from E. Main to S Stanton St., to E Overland Ave and return on Oregon St. 

Estimated attendance is just under 3,000, so early arrivals are encouraged as parking is limited.  

The EL Paso Streetcar will be operating from 9 a.m. to 1 a.m. Tickets can be purchased on any Streetcar. Standard fare is $1.50, children under five are free. 

The races will be televised live and on-demand at USACRITS.TV.
