On Friday police arrested Anthony Williams on suspicion of Injury to a Child. He has since been rebooked on two addition charges of child abuse, the release said.
“Two other children at the residence had signs of physical abuse,” the release said. “Crimes Against Children and Child Protective Services (CPS) jointly continued the investigation which culminated with the arrest of both parents and removal of the children by CPS.”
Several neighbors who live near Williams told KTSM on Friday that they never knew a child lived in that house.
“I did not know this neighbor, he was relatively new to the neighborhood. I haven’t seen or heard of any problems over in that area so it is really unusual,” said one neighbor who wished to remain anonymous.
Police said officers arrived to a family violence call Friday morning in the 12000 block of Tierra Canada.
Fire Medical Services were treating an unresponsive 1-year-old girl, who was taken to University Medical Center with life threatening injuries, the release said.
Police said that Williams struck his daughter several times after she kept falling while he was “teaching” her to walk, the release said.
Williams’ bonds have been set at $750,000 and Garcia’s are set at $400,000.
