Mexican Superstar Juan Gabriel dead at 66

News outlets out of Mexico are reporting that Mexican artist Juan Gabriel has died at the age of 66.

According to NBC News, the Mexican superstar died of a heart attack on Sunday in his California home.

Details of his death are limited at this time.

Juan Gabriel was supposed to perform at the Don Haskins Center in El Paso on August 28. Signs displayed outside of the arena say the show has been canceled. Ticket holders can receive refunds starting Monday at 10 a.m.

Several people have taken to Twitter to express their condolences. Mexican President Enrique Peña Nieto saying in part, “I regret the death of the legendary singer-songwriter, he has gone too soon. May he rest in peace.”
