Details for the funeral of Deputy Peter Herrera has been released by the El Paso County Sherrif’s Office. 

The funeral will take place at St. Frances Xavier Catholic Church, 12200 Vista Del Sol Dr. at 11 a.m.

The area will be closed to all thru traffic on Vista Del Sol Drive between Bob Hope Drive and Peter Cooper Drive from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Members of the public who wish to attend the services will be able to access the parking lot from Peter Cooper Drive only.

Following the funeral service the route to the cemetery will be as follows:

Expect closures and delays along the route.

“The Sheriff’s Office apologizes for the inconvenience but asks the public to bear with us during this difficult time,” an email from the Sheriff’s Office said. “Normal traffic flow will resume once the end of the procession passes through the area.”
