El Paso Police have identified the 53-year-old man in an electric wheelchair who was killed Thursday night in East El Paso after he was struck crossing the street.

Eduardo Dill, 53, of El Paso was in an electric wheelchair in the 11200 block of Vista Del Sol near Bessemer when he crossed Vista Del Sol without yielding to traffic, according to investigators.

Dill entered Vista Del Sol directly into the path of an oncoming Ford F-150 driven by 27-year-old Susanna Lozano. Dill suffered serious injuries and was taken to Del Sol Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.

EPPD’s Special Traffic Investigations unit says that the Dill entering the street without the right of way was the contributing factor in this crash.

This was the 50th traffic fatality of 2016 compared to 35 during this same time period in 2015. This is the 18th
pedestrian fatality of 2016 compared to 5 during this same time period in 2015.
