UPDATE: Police say a crash involving two motorcycles killed a couple and injured a 23-year-old man. On Thursday, May 25 officials responded to the serious crash on Loop 375 West at Mile Marker 60 at 8:46 p.m., according to El Paso Police.
Investigators found that the crash involved two motorcycles that were a part of a group of motorcyclists riding on Loop 375.
Police say the first motorcycle involved a 25-year-old man who was the driver and a 23-year-old woman who was the passenger. Police add that they were a couple.
The couple lost control of the motorcycle at a curve, striking a concrete barrier and a light pole. This resulted in the couple being thrown from the motorcycle, according to police.
Police say the 23-year-old woman landed in the middle of the right lane of traffic. The second motorcyclist, a 23-year-old man, was traveling in that right lane and hit the woman. This resulted in the second motorcyclist hitting the ground.
Police say the couple riding the first motorcycle died at the scene. The second motorcyclist was injured and was transported to a local hospital.
Friends and family identified the couple as Talvy Ajuria and Breanna Gueverra. Community members and others gathered to do a memorial ride on Friday night to remember the couple.
A close friend of Ajuria and Gueverra said the two loved to ride motorcycles together.
“Since I started riding with Brie and A.J. (Talvy), it was just nothing but fun. They share the same love, and I love. Sorry, I’m like, I’m getting choked up talking about it,” said Jonathan Guerra, a friend.
Guerra spoke with KTSM about the moment he heard there had been a crash.
“I started panicking because I know she likes to go out and ride, you know, late at night with her husband. I checked their locations, and sure enough, they were here,” Guerra said.
