Chef Julie Adauto owns Orange Peel Pastries, Cakes and More located in West El Paso. She is a competitor, culinary artist, and also an innovator to help her business succeed.
“Competitions keep you on your toes. You always learn something new each and every time and it is a wonderful way to help the community,” Adauto tells KTSM.
She has received multiple awards while competing for different organizations. “If I can help them in a creative, delicious, edible way, then I will,” Adauto said.
The shop offers more than just crafty desserts. Rare oils and vinegars can also be purchased. Adauto welcomes the community to try these items by having cooking classes at her store.
“What better way to let everybody know how good they are, by having cooking classes. They get to try and taste everything. Of course I make bread so that they can try all the oils and vinegars and of course bread in the oil is really good,” Adauto shared.
Orange Peel Pastries, Cakes and More has been in business for six years and counting.
“It’s just finding creative ways to stay in business and at the same time invite the community to come and support your business,” Adauto said.
The next cooking class offered will be on June 3rd at the shop located at 4700 N. Mesa.
