EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) – A loaded shotgun was found by parents down the street from an East El Paso elementary school.

The gun was found by parents Tuesday as school was being let out near Hurshel Antwine Elementary School.

It was reported to a DPS trooper who was driving down the street at the time, who secured the weapon. They alerted Socorro Independent School District Police Department since it was near the school campus.

No children were in any danger, district officials said.

KTSM’s Susy Castillo has more on the situation at 5, 6 and 10 p.m.
