Jury finds man guilty in Halloween murder

An El Paso Jury convicted and sentenced Edgar Cardenas to 50 years in prison Tuesday for the 2015 Halloween stabbing death of Luis Delgado in Canutillo. 

According to initial reports, El Paso County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a fight in the 100 block of Dixie in Canutillo on Halloween night. During the fight, Delgado was stabbed several times. He was taken to the hospital where he later died.

In addition to the 50 year sentence handed down by the jury, he was also ordered to pay a $10,000 fine.
