El Paso, Texas (KTSM) — El Paso Police and the Crimes Against Persons unit responded to a foul odor coming from a vehicle in the parking lot of a motel on Montana in Central El Paso.

Investigators say the incident happened at the El Paso Inn located at 6210 Montana Avenue near the intersection of Geronimo Drive.

According to EPPD, police received a call just after 2pm Tuesday afternoon from management at the El Paso Inn, claiming a suspicious vehicle was emitting a strong foul odor.

EPPD told KTSM they believe a body was inside the car, however they could not immediately confirm it. There is still no word as to why police haven’t been able to release information on what exactly was inside the vehicle.

Just before 10 pm EPPD cleared the scene at the motel parking lot and towed the vehicle suspected of containing a possible body.

“Officers from the central regional command responded and met with management, at this time we do believe we have a deceased body inside the vehicle,” said Sgt. Robert Gomez.

This is a developing story. Stay with KTSM for updates.
