An international architecture firm has been picked to design the new El Paso Children’s Museum.
Snøhetta, a firm from Norway, was the winner of a public vote held by the City of El Paso. Three design houses submitted concept art for the project.
According to city officials, the museum’s design will support its mission to celebrate El Paso’s multi-cultural community.
The museum will be located along West Main Dr. in Downtown El Paso, between the Museum of Art and the Museum of History.
The project was approved by voters as part of the 2012 Quality of Life Bond.
The total cost is set at $60 million dollars with completion slated for late 2021.
