Hungry Howie’s Flavored Crust Pizza, which has over 550 franchise locations around the country will officially open in East El Paso next Wednesday.
The pizza chain, which began in Michigan in 1973, has a large following in the Midwest and Southern U.S. States.
The El Paso location was franchised by the Villarreal family. The five family members had a dream to launch a family business together with their father, Fernando Villarreal Jr. The Villarreals were born and raised in Mexico and moved to the U.S. in 1982 where they have had over 50 years combined experience in business management in a variety of industries including manufacturing and banking.
Fernando Jr. and his son, Fernando III decided to open a Hungry Howie’s after traveling to the nearest location in Tucson. The pair said they fell in love with the pizza, realizing it was the exact product they were looking to bring to El Paso.
The new location will open Wednesday, Jan. 31. at 3560 N. Zaragoza near Edgemere. During the grand opening celebration, a large one-topping flavored crust pizza will cost you just $6.99.
The Villarreal family will donate 10% of sales on their opening day to Chester E. Jordan Elementary.
