Gov. Abbott visits El Paso to discuss local COVID-19 response

EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — Gov. Greg Abbott was in El Paso Thursday afternoon to hold briefings with local officials and to provide an update on COVID-19. Before leaving El Paso, he visited the Grand Candela Memorial at the Cielo Vista Walmart. 

Abbott was joined by Texas Division of Emergency Management Chief Nim Kidd, as well as El Paso Mayor Dee Margo, County Judge Ricardo Samaniego and other local officials.

Abbott met with officials in Lubbock Thursday morning to discuss the COVID response there.
