A backdoor cold front that came in overnight will drop temperatures down 15°-20° below normal today and tomorrow.
Forecast highs across the borderland range from the upper 40s to mid 50s for today and Saturday. Winds coming from the east will keep these below normal temepratures around until early next week.
For today winds will come from the east at 15-25 mph and gusts 30 mph. We will see peak gusts starting at 9 a.m. and lasting until 6 p.m.
This means that wind chill in El Paso will be in the 20s until 10 a.m.
Winds will continue to be windy on Saturday as well as they will continue to come from the east at 15-20 mph and gusts 30 mph.
A 10% chance of showers will come into the forecast late tonight, but will increase to 30% on Saturday. As of right now it looks that we will see this humid air come in after midnight, meaning we will see rain showers until 4 p.m. Saturday.
A warming trend will start tomorrow, meaning we will be back in the lower 60s by Sunday. However, we will see more seasonal coditions by Wedesday.
We will see more humid air come in next week, and as of right now it looks like our next chance for possible thunderstorms and windy days will come next Wednesday and Thursday.
