A Fort Bliss sergeant will now spend 60 years in federal prison for child porn and aggravated sexual abuse of a child.

U.S. Army Sgt. Ron Mitchell Dunbar, 34, was sentenced Wednesday for those crimes, according to a Department of Justice news release.

In April, Dunbar pleaded guilty to multiple charges, including admitting to crimes between 2007 and 2009, where he sexually assaulted two minor females while on Fort Bliss.

According to the release, Dunbar also admitted that in September 2017, he got another Fort Bliss resident, Faith Mitchell Chavez, to give him multiple photos her two minor daughters engaged in sexually explicit conduct.

She pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy to produce childe porn. She is scheduled to be sentenced on Nov. 1.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Ian Hanna prosecuted this case on behalf of the government.
