FBI set to host a unique hiring intiative next month

El Paso News

Starting next year, the FBI is looking to hire 900 special agents under a unique hiring initiative.

The FBI is looking to have a more diverse workforce by reaching out to anyone with a variety of backgrounds. This includes hiring more females and multi-cultural applicants.

Anyone with a background in science, technology, engineering and math are encouraged to apply. This recruitment gives those who attend an opportunity to participate discussions with current FBI special agents.

“We’re focusing on diversity and we’re focusing on agents. So we’re looking for people not just race and color, we’re looking for people who bring other skill sets. Language, background,” Special Agent of the El Paso division tells KTSM.  “We’re looking for people who can contribute to the community as a whole and help us with that make up in El Paso, as well as across the country.”

The event is free but by invitation only. To get one, all you have to do is upload your resume to the FBI.

The hiring event is set for September 14th at the Tomas River Conference Center on the UTEP campus.
