EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — El Paso Police confirm they’re investigating an incident involving an officer-involved shooting in Northwest El Paso.
Police allege a suspect was armed with a rifle, threatening to shoot drivers on I-10 between the Santa Teresa and Redd exits around 8 a.m. Friday morning.
“Officers of the West Side Regional Command Center were dispatched to the 7900 block of Thunderstorm on a suicidal subject that was armed with a rifle and making threatening statements to shoot persons on the interstate,” said Sgt Enrique Carrillo a Spokesperson for EPPD.

“There was a threat we’ll leave it at that the officers believed, perceived there an immediate threat to the public and to themselves,” said Carrillo.
No officers were injured and it is unclear if the man shot toward I-10.
