UPDATE: Police have arrested a 59-year-old woman in connection with Wednesday morning’s stabbing.
Rosa Maria Carrillo was arrested by the El Paso Police Department on suspicion of aggravated assault by a family member.
A news release from police said Carrillo allegedly began stabbing a 78-year-old woman in the middle of the night as she slept.
Carrillo has been booked into El Paso County Jail on a $100,000 bond.
ORIGINAL: El Paso Police confirm to KTSM a stabbing investigation at a home on Tiger Eye near Heartstone around 2:30 a.m. Wednesday.
Officers on scene said a woman was stabbed and it appears it’s the result of a domestic situation, but could provide no further details.
KTSM was first on scene as first responders rushed the victim to University Medical Center in an ambulance. Emergency dispatchers confirm the woman suffered life-threatening injuries.
Our crew on the scene saw police tape off the home and bring in a forensic unit.
