El Paso realtor killed in weekend ATV crash in Santa Teresa

An El Paso relator died in an ATV crash this weekend in Santa Teresa.

Jean-Marc Salloum, 36, died after he lost control of his ATV at about 4:30 p.m. Sunday in a desert area of Santa Teresa known as The Wall, the Dona Ana County Sheriff’s Office said in a news release.

The Sheriff’s Office said that Salloum was driving east on Airport Road when he crashed and he was not wearing a helmet and he suffered severe head injuries. 

According to the Greater El Paso Association of Realtors, Salloum was with Mission Realty.

This is the second off-road crash in the area this year, the release said. The Wall is a privately-owned area that has been known for being used for target shooting, ATV riding and underage drinking.

Dona Ana County Sheriff Kim Stewart has made The Wall a focus recently, by dedicating additional resources to the area. 

“We have a responsibility to protect our residents,” said Stewart. “Hopefully this tragic incident is a reminder to others to wear your helmet, practice safety at all times and ensure you are in control of your vehicle.”
