Whether you’re planning on taking a trip abroad or just need a verified form of identification, obtaining your U.S. Passport can seem like a daunting task.
The El Paso Passport Agency is hoping to make the process easier for Borderland residents. The agency will open its doors on Saturday, April 14 from 8 a.m. until 1 p.m. On Passport Day, no appointments are needed to apply for a passport and applicants can request routine or expedited service.
In order to reduce wait times on Passport Day, you’re encouraged to complete your applications online at travel.state.gov and bring your completed, unsigned forms to the agency.
If you’re planning on entering the United States by air you’ll need a valid passport book. Citizens planning on entering the country from Canada, Mexico, the Caribbean and Bermuda at land borders and sea ports must present a passport book, passport card, or other travel documents approved by the U.S. government.
More information on how to apply for a U.S. passport, including necessary documents and fees, is available at travel.state.gov. U.S. citizens may also obtain passport information by phone, in English and Spanish, by calling the National Passport Information Center toll-free at 1-877-487-2778.
The El Paso Passport Agency is located inside the Mills Building, 303 N. Oregon Street.
