Students at Cooley Elementary School will be moved to another school before being released, an El Paso Independent School District spokeswoman said.
The school is on lockout following a nearby officer-involved shooting.
EPISD released the following statement for parents who want to pick up their children:
“Cooley students are being transported to Henderson Middle and will be released to parents there. Person picking up the child will need a valid ID and to be on the school’s pick-up list. No child will be released to anyone not on the list.”
Cooley was put on lockout after an officer got shot in a nearby neighborhood at Seville and Sambrano streets.
