The City of El Paso gave a small town in the Mexican state of Chihuahua an ambulance on Tuesday.
The ambulance was no longer in use here in El Paso, but will provide the Town of Janos, which is on the border of Sonora and Chihuahua, with a medical vehicle.
The town is isolated and currently has poor emergency services.
“It’s going to be a very useful we are hub to Sonora and Arizona and New Mexico. We have about 800 vehicles that pass. So it’s going to be very useful for every accident,” said Jacob Jacquez, who was at the city council meeting representing the Town of Janos.
The town will now start to train some of its medical personnel to use the ambulance.
