The City of El Paso named Robert Cortinas, former Interim Director of Municipal Financial Services as the new Chief Financial Officer on Tuesday.
Cortinas will continue overseeing the Office of Management and Budget, the Tax Office and the Comptroller’s Office.
“Mr. Cortinas has gained valuable knowledge in operations and finance during his time with the City,” said City Manager Tommy Gonzalez. “I am confident he will continue doing an excellent job in maintaining continuity in financial operations and reporting.”
Cortinas began working with the City in 2007 and was promoted several times. He held positions of budget and management analyst, administrative analyst, business/finance manager, senior budget & management analyst and senior strategic budget advisor. He was appointed as the director of the Office of Management and Budget in 2014.
He holds a Master of Business Administration from UTEP, was inducted into the Beta Gamma Sigma Honor Society and was an All-American Scholar.
Cortinas replaces Mark Stutter as CFO for the City.
