Bomb scare delays flight en route to El Paso

El Paso News

A Southwest Airlines flight en route to El Paso was among hundreds of others that were delayed due to a bomb scare in the Phoenix airport on Sunday.

According to reports, part of the airport’s Terminal 4 was shut down for four hours after police discovered a suspicious abandoned rental car.

The Arizona Republic reports that the Phoenix Police Department deployed its bomb squad and a bomb-defusing robot, which later determined that the car wasn’t dangerous.

Approximately 300 flights were delayed and dozens were cancelled.
