ATV thief tried to burn Central El Paso building down to conceal crime

One thief wanted for stealing ATVS in various area, went as far as trying to burn down a business in order to destroy surveillance cameras that may of caught him committing the crime. 

The El Paso Police Department and Crime Stoppers of El Paso are looking for any information that can help them catch this man. 

The man used a white Ford F-250 pickup truck and trailer to take five ATV’s from the Viva Power Sports store, 1045 Magruder, a news release from Crime Stoppers said. 

The man took a 2018, Red, Polaris ATV; a 2018, White, Yamaha Quad ATV; a 2018, Blue, Yamaha Quad ATV; a 2016, Yellow, Polaris ATV; a 2015, Black, BMW motorcycle, the release said.

At one point the neighboring building, more importantly its cameras, caught the suspect’s attention. The release said he then set the building on fire in an attempt to destroy any camera footage with him on it. 

The release also said that police believe the same man is responsible for thefts from Las Cruces Motorsports and Santa Teresa Motorsports.

Anyone with information on the thief or his truck is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 566-8477.
