Argument leads to wife shooting husband in Northeast El Paso

UPDATE: Police released the names of the two who were involved in the Tuesday morning shooting.

Juan Manuel Garcia, 51, was allegedly shot by Lillian Pinales, 35, at about 5:37 a.m. in the 4700 block of Sierra Vista.

According to an El Paso Police Department news release, they are married and were arguing prior to the shooting. 

Pinales was arrested on suspicion of aggravated assault, while Garcia was sent to University Medical Center with life threatening injuries. 

ORIGINAL: A man was rushed to the hospital following a shooting Tuesday morning in a Northeast El Paso neighborhood.

The shooting happened in the 4700 block of Sierra Vista, the El Paso Police Department said. Dispatch said the call came in about 5:30 a.m.

Police said that a man and a woman got in an argument and it is believed the woman shot the man.

It is unknown what their relationship is or why she allegedly him.

The woman is detained by police as the police department’s Crimes Against Persons unit investigates it.
