Alleged DWI driver arrested for speeding over 105 mph

Police arrested a man for driving 45 mph over the speed limit this weekend.

Mussab Ahmed Khalaf, 35, was speeding over 105 mph in a 60 mph zone on I-10 East and the George Dieter/ Zaragoza exit at about 2:30 a.m. Sunday.

Pebble Hills Police Officers stopped Khalaf and charged him with a DWI. He was booked into the El Paso County Detention Facility under a $600 bond. 

EPPD says DWI arrests peak during the months of November and December.

According to statistical data, the deadliest times associated with alcohol and speeding are during the weekends between midnight and 3am.
