Additional Charges Filed Against Pair in Westside Burglary Investigation

El Paso Police have filed additional charges against a pair suspected in a string of Westside home burglaries. 

Francisco Villescas, 24, of Sunland Park and Cristal Pena, 19, are now each facing nine counts of burglary of a habitation. Villescas is also charged with evading arrest or detention with a vehicle, evading arrest and unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon. Pena is facing additional charges of evading arrest, resisting arrest and theft of a firearm.

The two were initially suspected of breaking into homes through open garage doors at night while residents slept. EPPD’s Westside Tactical Unit say the pair allegedly stole various items including cars, cell phones, electronics, jewelry, work equipment and weapons. 

Villescas’ bond is currently set at $395,000 while Pena’s bond is set at $431,000.
