More than 180 El Paso County cosmetology businesses and workers have been fined or had their licenses revoked by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation, according to a state database.

The list was released this week as part of an order by TDLR’s Executive Director Brian Francis and the Texas Commission of Licensing and Regulation.

In some cases, the fines were as large as $5,000 or individuals lost their licenses.

The offenses range from individuals operating without a license, failure to clean equipment and failure to keep up with records.

The list also includes 31 tow truck companies and workers that were fined or had their license revoked.

Most fines ranged in the thousands of dollars.

They were cited for offenses such as employing unlicensed individuals, operating without proper paperwork and failing to complete drug testing.

You can search the database for both cosmetology and tow truck companies, as well as elevators, vehicle storage facilities, used automotive part recyclers, combat sports, air conditioning contractors and technicians and electricians. The database can be found at https://www.tdlr.texas.gov/cimsfo/fosearch.asp.
