UPDATE: El Paso police say man has died in single vehicle crash in East El Paso

Local

EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) – El Paso police say a man has died after a single-vehicle crash that occurred early Sunday morning in East El Paso.

The special traffic investigation unit responded to the crash at Loop 375 near the Iron Medics exit just after midnight.

Gabriel Mars, 33, died in the crash and a woman named Crystal Cisneros, 33, sustained a head injury and was transported to a hospital, police say.

A news release says Cisneros was the driver of the vehicle, a 2004 Ford Expedition, and Mars was the passenger.

Police say the vehicle went into the center median and rolled over, resting in the northbound lanes. During the rollover, Mars was ejected from the vehicle and died on the scene, police claim.

Cisneros has pending blood results as police investigate what led to the crash. It is the 28th fatality related to traffic this year.
